The Author

S.C. Kincaid

S.C. Kincaid writes at the intersection of history, myth, and the stories families carry across centuries without quite knowing why.

The Aelf-King Sagas began the way most obsessions do, with a name. His family carried a Scottish name and a longer Scottish story, one that traveled from the Highlands and the Celtic borderlands across an ocean and eventually to the Ozark hills of Arkansas, where the stories changed shape but did not disappear.

The Aelf-King Sagas reimagine the origin of one of the world's gentlest myths through the lens of sixteenth and seventeenth century European witch trials, a world where folklore was weaponized, where belief was dangerous, and where the figures we later softened into symbols were something far older and stranger.

S.C. Kincaid lives in the Ozarks, where the winters are still long enough to make you wonder what might be moving through the trees.
